IVDD

IVDD affects 1 in 4 dachshunds at some point in their lifetime. Contrary to belief, dachshunds should be using the muscles in their back to help strengthen their spine! Pet insurance is also always recommended when owning any pet. Woolworths pet insurance covers IVDD. Whilst IVDD is not hereditary, properly bred dogs with the correct conformation are less susceptible, which is why you should always buy from a reputable breeder!

Health and genetics

All of our adults are health screened and DNA tested. We take consideration of their lineage also to reduce the risk of diseases and hereditary issues. ALL of our dogs are PRA clear.

What to feed them

It is not recommended to only feed your dog kibble. We raw feed our dachshunds human grade mince and fresh meat. We also add supplements to boost their skin , coat health and immunity. Joint supplements and collagen are also great for dachshunds.
